(Line)1. We do not return calls from this line, so listen carefully. We sell vouchers from 9 to 11 am, the first Saturday of each month at Tractor Supply in Asheboro. Vouchers are redeemed at clinics in Greensboro and the Humane Society discounts or pays part of the cost. Bring cash or money order for the cost of basic surgery. Cats are $25.00 and dogs are $45.00. Bring photo ID to prove that you live in Randolph County. You pay the clinic directly for additional surgical costs, vaccines, medications, or services. We limit families to 5 vouchers or truck spaces a year. Medicaid Clients must bring a current card and photo ID. Medicaid families are limited to 2 vouchers or truck spaces a year. Visit our website at www.hsrcpets.org for more information. Rescues and Breeders must work directly with the clinics. Do not call Tractor Supply, they allow us to use the building, but are not part of our program.
(Line)2. We do not return calls from this line, so listen carefully. The Humane Society schedules a few spay/neuter trucks to Greensboro each year for people who do not have transportation. We pre-register for the truck from 9 to 11 am the first Saturday of each month at Tractor Supply in Asheboro. Bring cash or money order in the amount of $25.00 per cat surgery, $45.00 per dog surgery and $10.00 per vaccine. The Humane Society discounts or pays part of the cost. Bring a copy of you pet's current rabies certificate, or $10.00 for the vaccine. Bring photo ID to prove that you live in Randolph County. We limit families to 5 vouchers or truck spaces a year. Medicaid Clients must bring a current card and photo ID. Medicaid families are limited to 2 vouchers or truck spaces a year. The spay/neuter truck dates are on our website at www.hsrcpets.org. If your pet needs surgery before the next truck, come to Tractor Supply in Asheboro the first Saturday of the month from 9 to11 am to buy a voucher, or contact one of the low cost S/N clinics on our website. You will have to pay their public prices, but they are very reasonable. Rescues and Breeders should work directly with the clinics. Do Not Call Tractor Supply. They let us use their building, but are not part of our program.
(Line)3. If you have seen one of our adoptable pets, please state which animal you wish to meet. Tell us whether you want a dog or a cat. Leave your name and two phone numbers, (spelling your name), and the best time to reach you. A volunteer will call.
(Line)4. To request medical assistance, please leave your name, two phone numbers, and the nature of your pet’s illness or injury. The Humane Society asks pet owners to pay for first veterinary appointment to diagnose the problem. If your request is approved, we help pay half the cost of treatment, up to $125.00.
(Line)5. If you need advice or information that may allow you to keep your pet, please e-mail us at info@hsrcpets.org and a volunteer will contact you. If you want to surrender your pet, go to www.hsrcpets.org, click on HSRC, then resources and links, for information on animal rescues, or contact animal control.
(Line)6. To report an injured or dangerous animal call 911, County Animal Control at 336-683-8235 or City Animal Control at 336-626-1300 ext 2. To report abandoned animals, cruelty, or neglect call County Animal Control or City Animal Control. Legal steps must be taken and reports investigated before abandoned, neglected, or abused animals can be removed.
To report stray, lost or found animals contact Randolph County Animal Control and visit our website www.hsrcpets.org, click on HSRC, then resources and links, for information on animal rescues.
If you want to locate an owner yourself, contact Animal Control, place an ad in the newspaper, contact local vets, and post flyers in your area.
If this call concerns horses, contact The NC Equine Rescue League at (336) 785-2430. Report injured wildlife to the Wildlife Center at the NC Zoo at 879-7644.
